About the Role

We’re looking for a fun, passionate, and dynamic Assistant Licensing Manager who will be an integral catalyst for building and growing the music industry. The ideal candidate should have a strong sales and team management background to thrive and succeed in this role.


The teammate we are looking for will be responsible for collecting license revenue for the organization. The individual will negotiate and close deals with various stakeholders and engage with them to create awareness of PRM (Philippines Recorded Music Rights Inc.). In addition, they should have strong management skills to handle a team and its day-to-day licensing activities, including liaising with the C-suite level.


The candidate will directly report to the Country Lead of PRM and work on a wide variety of business activities. They must be energetic, flexible, and creative to meet the requirements of a growing Collective Management Organization.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Hunter: Seek, negotiate, and close new licensing deals with music users such as broadcast networks, online platforms, and commercial establishments such as retail shops, malls, restaurants/bars, clinics/spas, for the public performance and communication to the public of original sound recordings (OSRs) under the PRM catalogue
  • Cultivator: Collaborate with various stakeholders and be responsible for the financial growth of the existing clients
  • Negotiator: Grow category assignments by pursuing new strategies and tactics that can help achieve the company’s financial goals
  • Assessor: Ensure that licenses are assessed accurately based on existing rate schedules, licensing activities are tracked and recorded, and status reports are regularly updated
  • Time-Master: Ensure that all licensing prospects (old and new) are pursued, and renewals are concluded in a timely manner
  • Tactician: Oversee the achievement of licensing goals through strategic planning and assess the performance of the licensing team, providing points for improvement and future direction
  • Reporter: Accomplish all required activities of the licensing process and reports in a timely manner, including preparation of correspondence and documents, client meetings and negotiations, and necessary coordination with the Licensing Head and other departments within PRM
  • Mentor: Collaborate with the licensing team and guide different individuals, serving as a mentor to help them grow the overall business. (Potential people manager)
  • Ambassador: Maintain good business relationships with licensees, partners, and collaborators to ensure that the organization is well-represented
  • Emissary: Handle discussions with potential and current licensees’ C-suite executives with finesse and tact, fronting PRM as a professional and collaborative organization
  • Others: Assist with day-to-day licensing-related activities and special projects as needed

Desirable Traits:

  • Diploma in Marketing, Business, Commerce, or any related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales & business development in adjacent fields
  • Strong negotiation skills with broad knowledge in licensing processes and operations
  • Mandatory experience in closing mega deals or complex contracts
  • Extensive experience in handling a small team
  • Previous experience in music, media, entertainment, fashion, advertising agencies, or any related industries will be highly advantageous
  • Good negotiator and has an outgoing personality, exudes confidence and a positive attitude
  • Self-starter and can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • Must have a natural passion for music
