We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Financial Crime Risk Assurance team. Our Financial Crime Risk division reports to the Head of Non-Financial Risk and supports our businesses, driving a high and consistent level of compliance and financial crime risk management, consistent with applicable national and international best practices and Macquarie’s core principles. Our team is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing, Anti-Bribery and Corruption and economic sanctions requirements in all jurisdictions in which Macquarie operates.

What role will you play?
In this role, you will report to the Head of Financial Crime Risk Assurance Data and Innovation and be responsible for the testing and review of critical technology and data controls that mitigate financial crime risk. You also could work on innovative enhancement projects to automate Assurance practices, including the use of generative AI tools and developing risk monitoring solutions.
You will support the Lead Assurance Reviewer and the Head of Assurance in the creation, maintenance, and timely execution of the Financial Crime Risk Assurance Plan. You will work closely with other members of the Assurance team to deliver valuable risk insights into the effectiveness of the Macquarie financial crime risk management framework. You will engage with senior business and functional stakeholders during the planning, fieldwork, and reporting stages of assurance reviews, and on relevant risk management initiatives related to assurance.
What You Offer
- Experience in an assurance or audit function, with in-depth knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
- Proven ability to collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, effectively translating business requirements into robust technical solutions, and conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders with clarity.
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics and visualization tools such as SQL, Alteryx, and Power BI.

Solid understanding of DevOps processes and tools, with a particular focus on data engineering practices. - Ability to code in Python is not essential but beneficial
- An understanding of global financial crime standards and regulations, such as AML, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption is beneficial.
