Job Description

TheidealSeniorAI&AutomationScientistcandidateforthisrolewillhaveinsuranceindustryexperiencewithNaturalLanguageProcessing(NLP)andperhapsComputerVision(CV)especiallyappliedtodataextractionproblems.TheywillbeskilledintransferlearningandpossessanunderstandingofandcapabilityinDeepLearning(DL).TheycanperformworkineachofthoseareasbyleveragingacloudenvironmentlikeDatabricksonAzurewithPythoninanotebookandIDEenvironmentwithversioncontrolleveraginggit.TheycannavigateAPIbasedgenerativeAImodelslikethosefromOpenAI.Theycanperformthesetaskscollaboratively,transparently,andseektoimprovetheskilloftheteamoverall.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliverproductionqualitysolutionsfordataextraction,classification,triaging,routing,search,etc.
  • Programmaticallyexploredata,deriveinsightsthatarestatisticallysound,andconveyfindingstocolleaguesofvaryingsophistication
  • Labelandvalidatedatasetsofvarioussizes,usingmanualmethodsaswellasprogrammaticandAIdrivenapproaches
  • Evaluatetheperformanceofmodelsandsolutions-as-a-wholeonpracticalandstatisticalbenchmarks
  • Collaboratewithotherscientists,engineers,productowners,andbusinesscustomerstodevelopsolutionsthatmeetthebusinessproblem
  • Create,contributeto,improve,andconveytechnicalandnon-technicaldocumentationofsolutions

Qualifications

  • Experienceapplyingquantitativemethodsinacorporateenvironment
  • ExperiencewithPythonfromafunctionalprogrammingparadigm,abletomanagedependencies,virtualenvironments,andversioncontrolingit
  • ExperiencewithcloudcomputingplatformssuchasAzure,AWS,orGCP
  • Expertiseinsupervisedlearningandunsupervisedlearningalongwithexperienceindeeplearningandtransferlearning
  • Experiencewithgenerativealgorithms(e.g.,GAN,VAE,etc.)aswellasfoundationmodels(e.g.,GPT-4o,SAM,Mistral)
  • Experiencedevelopingsolutionsfrominceptionthroughdeployment

PreferredQualifications

  • Graduatedegreeinaquantitativefield
  • Experiencewithsequentialalgorithms(e.g.,LSTM,RNN,GRU,etc.)
  • ExperienceevaluatingethicalimplicationsofAIandconsiderationsaroundcontrollingthem

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology degree, Data Analytics or equivalent
