Roles and Responsibilities
- Review plans and specifications to list required trades for each project.
- Review tender packages and issue documents via tender portals.
- Coordinate and distribute RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Follow up on RFQs to ensure timely responses, assist in pricing comparisons, and manage quotes and related files.
- Manage, understand, coordinate, and issue all tender/quote addenda.
- Raise and manage RFIs (Requests for Information) at the tender stage.
- Record and manage submission deadlines; organize site visits with clients and trades.
- Manage and maintain tender submission documentation (filing, organizing, version tracking).
- Maintain up-to-date contact lists for suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist in reviewing and compiling bid submissions for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with prequalification documentation and client submission requirements.
- Assist in post-tender clarifications and pricing reviews with the Estimator.
Client and Supplier Coordination
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing, terms, and scope details.
- Attend site meetings, take and distribute minutes.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years in a junior estimating role within the building or construction industry.
Knowledge
- Familiarity with construction tendering processes and cost estimating principles.
- Basic understanding of reading and interpreting plans.
Skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency
- Experience or exposure to estimating software.
- Familiarity with online tender portals such as Estimate One.
