We are seeking an experienced and analytical Accounting Manager with a strong background in cost accounting to join our team at the manufacturing plant. This role will play a vital part in monitoring production costs, analyzing financial efficiency, and supporting strategic decisions through accurate and insightful financial data.

Job Objectives & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all cost accounting functions within the manufacturing plant, ensuring accurate tracking of production costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Analyze and report on cost variances, production margins, and operational efficiencies, providing actionable insights to plant leadership and senior management.
• Develop and maintain standard costing models, regularly updating cost structures to reflect changes in raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Partner with operations and supply chain teams to evaluate cost drivers, support pricing strategies, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end close process for plant accounting, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of cost-related financial data.
• Ensure proper inventory accounting and conduct periodic inventory reconciliations, including analysis of discrepancies and adjustments.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, budget forecasts, and variance analyses to support business planning and decision-making.
• Establish and enforce internal controls to maintain accuracy and integrity in cost reporting and inventory management.
• Collaborate with auditors during internal and external reviews, providing documentation and support related to cost accounting processes.
• Supervise and mentor plant-based accounting staff, ensuring a high standard of performance and continuous development.
• Coordinate with the head office finance team to align plant cost accounting with overall financial reporting and compliance standards.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements related to inventory and production cost accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years specializing in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of standard costing, inventory valuation methods, and variance analysis.
• Strong proficiency in accounting and ERP systems, as well as MS Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present complex financial data clearly.
