JOB TITLE : Counter Server

REPORTS TO : Dining Shift Leader / Front of the House - Manager on Duty (FOH-MOD)

BASIC FUNCTION : To timely prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests and servers in strict adherence to CPK standard recipes and procedures, and to keep the bar clean and well stocked throughout the shift. To timely and courteously serve guests who choose to dine at the counter and/or order for take-out or delivery.



HAZARDS OF WORK:

■ Exposure to wet floors, noise and extreme temperature.

■ Stooping, bending, exerting well paced mobility and/or standing for a period up to 8 hours or more in length.

■ Lifting weights up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis.


BASIC RESPONSIBILITY:


■ To timely and hospitably serve guest in adherence to CPK policies and standards.

■ To always observe and respond to guests’ needs accordingly whether dine-in, take-out, or delivery.

■ To memorize menu items, wines, beers, and cocktails offered in CPK by heart.

■ To be thoroughly familiar with the P.O.S. system

■ To read posted information and follows through accordingly.

■ To answer phones and direct calls using telephone etiquette.

■ To promptly and fully inform immediate supervisor of all problems or unusual matters of significance. Take prompt and corrective action when necessary or suggest alternative courses of action.

■ To foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate that is conducive to maximize employee moral and productivity.

■ To help train new employees and trainees based on CPK standards.

■ To attend all company meetings and seminars, as directed by management.

■ To be properly dressed in uniform with proper nametag and to maintain professional appearance throughout shift.

■ To attend to special projects or other responsibilities related to the business of the company as assigned by FOH-MOD.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

■ Acknowledge guests as they arrive.

■ Guide guests in selecting food and beverage items.

■ Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, and sugar to prepare cocktails and drinks.

■ Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for guests and servers.

■ Serve wine, draft or bottled beer, and food to guests who choose to eat at the counter.

■ Merchandise cocktail hours, promos, etc.

■ Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests.

■ Collect payment for drinks served following established company accounting procedures for all transactions.

■ Follow cash handling procedures and turn in required amount of cash and charge vouchers daily.

■ Clean the bar area and keep it well stocked.

■ Memorize the bar area for an easier completion of tasks.

■ Handle take-out, delivery, counter service, and bartending duties efficiently and effectively.

■ Assist server in bar knowledge (proper glassware, correct garnish, beverage recipes, etc.)

■ Clean, sanitize, restock, and store bar items according to CPK standard.

■ Secure all forms of payment at the end of the shift.

■ Use and handle knife properly.

■ Check back on bar guests for degree of customer satisfaction.

■ Answer telephone for take-out orders and prepare package of food orders to go.

■ Break down stations for closing procedures.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:


CPK Bartender should posses the following qualifications:


■ College graduate if no experience yet or at least 2nd year college with working experience preferably of courses related to Hotel and Restaurant industry.

■ Have excellent communication skills.

■ Have a pleasing personality and appearance.

■ Have bartending experience in similar industry is preferred but not required.

■ Able to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions and recipes.

■ Physically fit to withstand the hazards of work.

■ A teamplayer.

■ Display positive working attitude like enthusiasm, honesty, friendliness, etc.
