Title: Project Pulse: Unlocking GrabPay Adoption for Micro-Merchants in the Provinces

Case Prompt: GrabPay is well-known in Metro Manila, but adoption among micro-merchants in provincial areas remains low. These merchants typically prefer cash or GCash.

Imagine you are part of the Grab Financial Group PH task force assigned to Project Pulse—a rapid initiative to onboard and activate 1,000 small sari-sari stores, karinderias, or tricycle terminals across 3 provincial areas (e.g., Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Baguio) to start using GrabPay QR for payments and GrabFin services (e.g., merchant loans, micro-insurance).

Your Challenge: In 3–4 slides, show how you would design and execute a 60-day pilot to make this happen.

Slide Guidance (for candidates)

Slide 1: Opportunity & Problem Framing

What’s the real barrier for adoption?

Why does solving this matter to Grab?

Slide 2: Your Big Idea – The Pilot Plan

Describe your go-to-market approach: messaging, channel, people, tactics

How will you convince micro-merchants to try GrabPay?

Slide 3: Execution Details

What are your milestones, KPIs, and budget assumptions?

Who are your must-have partners? What resources do you need?

Slide 4 (Optional): Risk & Innovation Lens

What could go wrong, and how would you solve it?

How does this scale beyond the pilot?

What we’re looking for:

  • Insightful framing of user or market behavior
  • Clear action plan with achievable but ambitious milestones
  • Scrappy, creative thinking—bonus for local flavor or viral growth hacks
  • Awareness of GFG products and ecosystem integration (GrabPay, Loans, Rewards)
  • Thoughtful use of limited resources and stakeholder alignment
