Purchase seafood from trusted suppliers, fish farmers, or auction markets.
Ensure seafood meets quality standards (e.g. size, freshness, and weight).
Monitor seafood market trends and price fluctuations to buy at optimal rates.
Build and maintain relationships with seafood vendors, suppliers, and fishpond operators.
Schedule and coordinate regular supply deliveries.
Resolve issues related to supply delays, shortages, or quality concerns.
Negotiate prices with suppliers to meet target margins.
Compare multiple sources to get the best quality at the lowest price.

2–3 years of experience as purchasing staff for fresh and frozen goods and in wet market trading.
Experience as a purchaser of marine fish is an advantage.
Willing to travel to various locations and work in the field regularly, particularly in wet markets.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to positively influence others.
Adaptable, eager to learn the business with persistence and endurance.
