Role Overview

The Data & Analytics Support Engineer is responsible for providing specialist knowledge and high- level technical contribution to the end-to-end delivery of Data, Business Intelligence and Analytics projects.

Role Responsibilities

The Data & Analytics Support Engineer is responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Providing consultancy on the use of database software and database design.
  • Maintaining and providing production support of corporate data warehousing applications.
  • Ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within cost and in line with agreed quality standards and client requirements.
  • Identifying and analysing business requirements and providing the most effective and efficient technical solutions.
  • Ensuring the implementation of data analysis / design policies in database design.
  • Performing ad-hoc and project oriented technical support of an advanced nature associated with the organisation's data warehousing / business intelligence systems.
  • Utilising knowledge in one or more major relational database / data warehousing applications to resolve support issues.


Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with Azure Data Stack or Snowflake.
  • Experience in production support and incident resolution.
  • Proficiency in Power BI for report maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL & data warehousing.
  • Willing to share on-call duties with the onshore team on a rotational basis for 24x7 support.

Good-to-Have:

  • Experience with Databricks, Coalesce, Wherescape RED, or Purview.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Knowledge

  • Well versed in data warehousing concepts and issues.
  • Knowledge of database (RDBMS) administration and associated database management techniques.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of data modelling and data warehousing principles.
  • Knowledge of several data warehousing applications that may include Oracle, PL/SQL, Unix Scripting, EssBase, Business Objects.
