JOB SUMMARY

Data Engineer will play a key role in building and maintaining robust data systems that empower our organization to extract valuable insights from our data. As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines, warehouses, and analytical solutions. Your technical expertise in SQL, distributed database systems, programming languages (Node.JS, or Python), and cloud services (AWS, GCP) will be instrumental in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand data requirements, and translate them into effective data solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses to support business intelligence, analytics, and reporting needs.
• Optimize and troubleshoot data processing and storage systems to ensure data integrity, reliability, and performance.
• Work closely with data and business analysts to provide them with access to structured and clean data for advanced analytics and data modeling.
• Utilize your expertise in SQL and distributed database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Amazon, Redshift) to develop and maintain high-quality databases.
• Employ programming skills in Node.JS, R Language or Python to build data-driven applications and automation tools.
• Implement and manage data solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift, etc.) ensuring scalability and security.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure smooth deployment and integration of data systems.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering technologies, continuously exploring opportunities for improvement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience using visual analytic tools (e.g. Superset, Tableau, PowerBI), big data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and data warehousing architectures (data lake, data warehouse, datamart).
• 3+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering, with knowledge of marketplace operations, logistics, transportation, supply chain or last-mile delivery preferably.
• Working experience in a well-established logistics or e-commerce company is a plus.
• A track record of building performance dashboards and data pipeline to support consumer business

Technical Skills:

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a track record of successful data-driven projects.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and working with database systems, including distributed database systems.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Node.JS, R Language, or Python, and experience with ETL tools like Apache Nifi and Apache Airflow and experience with CDC connectors like Debezium
• Hands-on experience with cloud services, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, Redshift, etc.) and GCP (GCS, BigQuery).
• Familiarity with big data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of data warehousing architectures, including data lake, data warehouse, and datamart.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data transformation techniques.
• Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines using the above-mentioned technologies.
• Familiarity with data streaming and real-time data processing concepts using Kafka or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes is a plus.
• Familiarity with modern data transformation tools such as dbt is an advantage.
