The core responsibility is to strictly follow all safety rules mandated by the company and the DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment) to prevent accidents.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Safe Equipment Operation: Operate the manlift (scissor lift, boom lift, etc.) in a controlled, safe, and professional manner to move crew and materials to the required elevation.
  2. Pre-Operation Inspection: Conduct mandatory daily pre-operation checks (e.g., fluid levels, tires, controls, safety devices, structural integrity) as per the operator's manual and site safety plan (often recorded in a checklist or logbook).
  3. Site and Hazard Assessment: Inspect the work area for potential hazards such as uneven ground, overhead power lines, other equipment, and pedestrian traffic before and during operation.
  4. Maintenance and Reporting: Perform minor routine maintenance (e.g., lubrication, cleaning) and promptly report any mechanical faults, damage, or required repairs to the supervisor.
  5. Safety Compliance: Ensure all personnel working on the platform are wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), particularly a full-body harness and lanyard, and are tied off properly, in compliance with DOLE standards for working at heights.
  6. Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication (visual or radio) with ground crew and personnel working on the platform.
  7. Post-Operation: Secure the equipment properly after use, including lowering the platform, turning off the ignition, and chocking the wheels (if applicable).
