KASAMBAHAY position: The Gardener is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and health of the gardens and outdoor areas of the convent. This includes watering plants, trimming grass and shrubs, planting, fertilizing, removing weeds, and ensuring that the garden is a peaceful and beautiful environment for prayer, reflection, and recreation. The gardener must work harmoniously with the Sisters and other staff, and ensure that the surroundings reflect the peaceful and prayerful life of the religious community.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Water plants, trees, and shrubs regularly.
2. Cut and trim grass, hedges, and bushes.
3. Plant new flowers, vegetables, herbs, or ornamental plants.
4. Apply fertilizers, compost, and organic pest control when necessary.
5. Pull out weeds and clear dry leaves and debris.
6. Maintain the cleanliness and beauty of garden paths, plant boxes, and outdoor spaces.
7. Monitor plant health and report pests, diseases, or dying plants to the Sister-in-Charge.
8. Sweep and clean the surroundings including pathways, grotto, patios, or prayer gardens.
9. Assist in setting up outdoor decorations or arrangements during community events.
10. Take care of tools and equipment, and keep them organized and in good condition.

• At least high school/senior high school education; formal training in gardening is a plus but not required.
• Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance is preferred.
• Knowledge of plant care, weeding, composting, and organic pest control is an advantage.
• Physically fit, hardworking, and able to work under the sun or rain.
• Honest, responsible, and respectful of religious life and surroundings.
