Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling
Must be a Registered Guidance Counselor (RGC)
At least 3 - 5 years of immersive experience in different guidance and counselling services such as testing, placement, counselling and research in the tertiary level
Knowledge in various models of teaching and guidance modules are preferred for this role
Working knowledge in utilizing operations and innovations to handle the scale of growing population
Must possess strong relationship-building and communication skills
Must possess strong database management, research, critical thinking and leadership skills
Must have the ability to operate within a wide range of student background and personalities
Excellent command of the English Language (both written and verbal)
Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills
Independent and a self-starter with a strong focus on student development
Ability to work around new technological advancements is an advantage
Responsibilities:
Assist the Admissions Office in assessing student applicants as regards their psychological well being in relation to mainstream education and the school standards and policies
Conduct routine and follow up interviews of students referred to the office and see to it that a proper referral system is followed
Prepare yearly guidance modules that regularly meets the needs and concerns of the student body, including intervention programs for students that have been referred to the Guidance Center
Prepare a functional Guidance, Counseling and Mental Health Program geared towards the optimum development of the students and staff
Evaluate students’ abilities and interests through aptitude assessments and interviews
Identify school issues that affect students’ academic performance
Conducts individual group and counseling sessions to overcome behavioral problems or develop effective organizational skills and study habits
Conduct learning seminars or brainstorming sessions on school-related issues and career planning
Maintain student guidance records as required
Manage cases of mental health disorders and refer to partner Psychological clinics as necessary
Establish policies and procedures in performing Guidance center services to students
Coordinate with the academic and HR department on the function and use of guidance services
Monitor and evaluate the punctuality and attendance of the students and make recommendations to the department concerned as necessary
Collaborate and communicate with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student issues and all relevant information regarding the student’s academic and school progress
Submit a monthly report of all accomplished programs and activities to relevant stakeholders
Perform other tasks as may be required by the School Management
