The Junior Accountant is responsible for providing support to the Finance and Accounting team by handling basic accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, assisting with tax and compliance requirements, and managing the Sales and Accounts Receivable (AR) reconciliation of all stores. This role helps maintain the day-to-day financial integrity of the company.


Key Responsibilities:


Daily Accounting Tasks

  • Record and post daily transactions into the accounting system.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist in preparing bank reconciliations and monitoring bank balances.
  • Maintain organized financial records, files, and documentation.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.


Sales and Accounts Receivable (AR) Reconciliation

  • Manage and monitor the Sales and AR reconciliation of all stores.
  • Validate daily sales reports against cash and credit collections.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in sales reporting.
  • Coordinate with store teams for sales documentation and collection issues.
  • Ensure timely posting and reconciliation of AR balances in the system.


Tax and Compliance Support

  • Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns (e.g., VAT, withholding tax, income tax).
  • Ensure timely gathering and organization of supporting documents for tax compliance.
  • Help maintain compliance with government regulatory requirements.


Financial Reporting Assistance

  • Prepare basic financial reports and schedules as assigned.
  • Support the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in providing financial data for management reports.
  • Assist in budget monitoring and cost tracking activities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome; 0-1 year of relevant experience is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and Philippine taxation.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) is a plus. Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn, positive attitude, and ability to work well in a team.
