WSP, a world leading management and consultancy firm, is seeking Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Building Services - Design team. Responsible for preparing mechanical design requirement of the project.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for the Mechanical services design of building services and associated systems of work.
- Manage and maintain the record of all incoming and outgoing drawings from the office in accordance with WSP QA procedures.
- Apply legislation, standards, guidelines and project specifications.
- Liaison with WSP personnel and WSP’s partners both local and foreign affiliates and clients.
- Liaise and coordinate with other disciplines of the design team.
- Manage and control outputs in accordance with the design work program.
- Attend meeting when required.
- At all times exhibit behaviour, consistent with that of a professional member of WSP.
- Assist and contribute with the training and development of junior staff.
- Assist in multidisciplinary project activities.
- Comply with all role specific SHEQ obligations.
- Develop ability to apply safety in design to all projects.
- Prepare technical reports on small to medium projects.
- Use of HVAC software and 3D modelling to develop mechanical system designs.
- Carry out any assignments that will be given from time to time by the management.
What We'll Love About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any related field.
- Proficient in Mechanical Design limited to Building Services
- Registered Mechanical Engineer
- Can perform Duct sizing and Pressure Duct Calculation, Heating & Cooling Load Calculation, Mechanical Ventilation Estimate.
- Can perform Engineering from Concept Design and Detailed Design.
- Proficient in CAMEL (Heating/Cooling load calculation software)
- Proficient in Carrier E20 software (Carrier Hour Analysis Program)
- Knowledgeable in ASHREA, NCC, CIBSE, NPFA, relevant to Life Safety and Smoke Control System and Australian/New Zealand Standard, advantage
- Knowledgeable in BIM Operation, BIM Clash Detection, Family Creation, Naviswork and AutoCAD
- Knowledgeable in BlueBeam, PDF Exchanger and Adobe Reader
- Minimum of 7 years’ solid work experience in Mechanical design that includes:
- Water, Gas, and Steam Piping System
- MVAC/HVAC Duct Sizing
- Equipment Sizing and Selection
- CSD and SEM Coordination
- Building Automation System
- Fire Protection System
- Preparation of Technical Specifications
- Experience working on Australian project is an advantage.
- Proficient in Design software, Windows and Microsoft applications.
- Proficient in using Revit (MEP) software, advantage.
- Fluent in written and oral English language
- Strong communication skills at all organizational levels, project design consultants and client representatives
