Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Design, implement, and manage the underlying infrastructure for our VoIP services, including servers, network components, and cloud resources.
  • Ensure high availability and scalability of VoIP platforms to meet growing demands.
  • Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to detect and resolve issues proactively.
  • Apply security best practices to VoIP infrastructure, including encryption, access controls, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Monitor for and mitigate security threats specific to VoIP platform such as denial of service attacks and the likes.
  • Conduct regular security audits and execute remediation/mitigations relative to security findings.
  • Manage and maintain Linux/UNIX and Microsoft Windows Server environments that support VoIP applications and services.
  • Apply system patches and updates to ensure the security and stability of the operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot server-related issues and optimize server performance for VoIP workloads.
  • Leverage public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for VoIP service delivery, ensuring scalability, redundancy, and cost-efficiency.
  • Manage private cloud environments that complement or extend the VoIP infrastructure.
  • Implement cloud security controls to protect VoIP data and communications.
  • Work closely with Service Delivery, Network Operation Center Engineers, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of VoIP services.
  • Participate in incident response and provide technical support for VoIP platform-related issues.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering with a focus on VoIP or real-time communication systems.
  • Proven expertise in Linux/UNIX and Microsoft Windows Server administration.
  • Hands-on experience with VoIP protocols and technologies (SIP, RTP, WebRTC).
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private cloud technologies.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) is a plus.

Specific skills & abilities:

  • Deep understanding of VoIP security best practices and common vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
