Looking for safety officer that will responsible for ensuring that the workplace complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The role involves identifying potential hazards, implementing safety policies, conducting training, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
• Identify hazards and recommend effective control measures.
• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports with root-cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and industry-specific safety regulations.
• Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness drills.
• Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation as required.
• Coordinate with management, supervisors, and workers to improve safety awareness.
• Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety rules.
• Respond to emergencies and support development of emergency response plans.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid/CPR) are often preferred.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in a safety-related role (varies by employer).
• Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, local HSE laws).
• Ability to identify hazards and implement control measures.
• Familiarity with HSE documentation, permits, and reporting tools.
• Understanding of emergency response procedures and PPE management.
