We help small business owners get on top of their back office Finance and HR practices to allow them to grow their business rather than get lost inside them.   • Understands Xero inside and out, we only use Xero with our clients
  • Understands Australian taxation principles inside and out. While we have a team of in house HR experts that can assist with Award interpretation, this person will understand the complicated Australian taxation landscape across a mix of industries and the intricacies that come with it
  • Has an eye for detail around various aspects of Tax Accounting and isn’t afraid to ask questions when they see something that isn’t right


What you will be doing

  • Working under the guidance of our Partner and founder your role will include the below
  • Prepare Company and Individual tax returns and staying updated on Australian tax rules
  • Work with the inhouse bookkeeping team to ensure there is a seamless handoff between BAU throughout the year and returns come end of year
  • Prepare financial statements, income tax returns, and other lodgements for companies, partnerships, trusts, and a range of individual businesses.
  • Undertake business advisory projects such as budgets, cash flows, and management reporting.
  • Ensure all documentation, including work papers and client files, is maintained in line with the client group compliance requirements.


This is a full time, permanent role. Getting the right person on the bus is imperative and we want to ensure that you will be compensated fairly for your contribution.

Requirements

A little about your background

  • At least five years working in a public practice / BPO dealing with multiple Australian clients
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, employment-related taxes, payroll tax and workers compensation. Proven experience in preparing BAS and returns.
  • Advanced skills in Xero and all of it’s back end systems (Xero Tax, Workpapers, XPM, etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients.
  • Strong planning and time management skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities.
  • Ideally used Asana, Slack, MS Office 365 applications
