Human Resources Specialist – Remote


Job Title: Human Resources Specialist

Employment Type: Remote / Full-Time

Location: Remote

Department: Human Resources

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, flexible remote working

Reports To: HR Manager / Head of Human Resources


About the Role


We are looking for a highly organised, motivated and professional Human Resources Specialist to join our growing team on a fully remote basis.


The successful candidate will support a wide range of HR activities, including recruitment, candidate management, employee administration, onboarding, HR documentation and day-to-day communication with employees and applicants.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities and communicating with people from different backgrounds.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

Manage the recruitment process from initial vacancy through to appointment.

Create and publish professional job advertisements across appropriate recruitment platforms.

Review CVs and applications and identify suitable candidates.

Conduct initial candidate screening and interviews.

Communicate with candidates throughout the recruitment process.

Arrange interviews and coordinate availability between candidates and management.

Maintain accurate candidate records and recruitment databases.

Assist with sourcing candidates through job boards, professional networks and other recruitment channels.

Prepare candidate shortlists and provide recommendations to management.

Employee Onboarding

Coordinate the onboarding process for successful candidates.

Prepare employment documentation, contracts and onboarding materials.

Ensure new employees receive the information and resources required to begin their role.

Maintain accurate employee records.

Follow up with new employees during their initial period of employment.

HR Administration

Maintain confidential and accurate employee records.

Prepare HR letters, documentation and internal communications.

Assist with holiday, absence and leave administration.

Maintain HR databases and spreadsheets.

Ensure HR documentation is organised and up to date.

Assist management with general HR administration and reporting.

Monitor important HR deadlines and follow up where required.

Employee Relations

Act as a professional point of contact for employees regarding general HR matters.

Respond to employee questions and enquiries promptly.

Support management with employee-related issues.

Help maintain positive employee relationships and professional workplace standards.

Escalate complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate manager.

HR Policies & Compliance

Assist with maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures.

Ensure HR processes are followed consistently.

Maintain confidentiality when handling employee and candidate information.

Support the company in maintaining appropriate employment records and documentation.

Assist with HR audits and reporting when required.

Requirements


The ideal candidate will have:


Previous experience in Human Resources, Recruitment or a similar role.

Good knowledge of recruitment and employee administration processes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

The ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Excellent attention to detail.

Strong computer and administrative skills.

Experience using Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.

The ability to work independently in a remote environment.

A professional and reliable approach to work.

Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.

The ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Desirable Experience


The following would be advantageous:


Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).

Experience using LinkedIn and online recruitment platforms.

Experience conducting telephone or video interviews.

Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.

Experience preparing employment contracts and HR documentation.

Previous experience working within a remote or international organisation.
