As a Design Specialist, you will be responsible for the design and construction of BLG stores together with other members of the design, operations, engineering and executive departments. You are also tasked to create and execute exciting display concepts for furniture exhibits. From time to time you will also be tasked with assisting with design consultations, styling and visual merchandising.
STORE DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
1. Acts as the point person for all matters pertaining to store design & construction
2. Works closely with the Head Designer and management to conceptualize store designs and layouts
3. Prepares floor plans/layouts for new stores as well as for therenovation/enhancement of the existing branches
4. Coordinates with suppliers and contractors for necessary materials and quotations
5. Conducts regular site visits to check on the progress of construction
6. Oversees all aspects of store enhancements (including updating visuals, finishes, etc.)
EXHIBITS
1. Works closely with the design team and other departments in conceptualizing and implementing exhibits
2. Conduct preliminary ocular visit to exhibit site
3. Acts as the point person for design in major company exhibits while also leading and delegating to design associates (when needed) for minor exhibits
4. Coordinate with other departments to ensure materials needed to execute the visual display for the exhibit are ready and available
5. Sourcing materials for exhibits when needed
6. Properly document and file exhibit photos in database for future use
ADMINISTRATIVE
1. Prepares a weekly update on the progress of ongoing construction,renovation /enhancement and exhibits
2. Compiles renovated and new store’s files, quotations and photos
3. Compiles exhibit files, quotations and photos
4. Maintains a supplier database for future reference
5. Maintains library of material samples at the Head Office
OCCASIONAL DUTIES
1. Assist in conducting monthly store visits
2. Assist with Head Office Corporate clients when necessary
3. Other duties as assigned
- Must be a graduate of Interior Design or related course
- Proficient in Google SketchUp and Microsoft Office
- Planning management and good time management skills
- Able to work with various departments, suppliers, contractors
- Oversee projects to be completed on time and on budget
- Organized with a keen eye for details
- No work experience required
