The non-profit organization PCX Solutions is working with governments around the world on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes to boldly tackle the plastic issue upstream and downstream. We are helping the corporate sector to understand its plastic footprint, to implement reduction strategies and to comply with existing and upcoming legislation. It also manages and safeguards a fully transparent, third-party audited Plastic Pollution Reduction Standard to ensure the impact and responsibility of plastic waste projects, channeling funding into recycling infrastructure and increasing socio economic benefits for the communities.

Job Overview:

As our Accounting Associate, you will be part of the Finance team responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting operations that will provide accurate, timely, and accessible financial information to help our team make well-informed financial decisions and optimise resources to achieve PCX Solution’s mission. This position will support accounting responsibilities including, but not limited to: accounts payable (AP), billing and collection, and monthly close procedures.

This role will report to the Finance and Accounting Manager and will work closely with other cross functional team members in several key areas. This is an ideal role for an insightful self-starter with superior organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and 2+ years of exceptional AP/AR and General Ledger experience who wants to make an impact.


Note that this is a contract position offering a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects within a defined timeframe.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Tracking payables and outgoing payments
  • Verifying employees’ expense reports in accordance to company policies
  • Processing payments to suppliers using Disbursement Voucher System with complete documentation
  • Verifying vendor invoices are BIR compliant
  • Clearing bills or vendor invoices in Quickbooks
  • Preparing the supplier Creditable Withholding Tax form
  • Remitting payroll taxes and government mandatories, preparing payroll monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns,
  • Assisting in maintaining the book of accounts in Quickbooks including preparation of journal entries
  • Assisting in the preparation of complete financial statements, and timely preparation of bank reconciliations
  • Fill out tax periodic forms in accordance with the BIR-prescribed deadlines. Timely payment processing of verified tax dues following the prescribed channels and methods
  • Preparing invoices to customers and ensuring they are released and paid on time
  • Filing and maintaining of accounting documents readily available for audit
  • Physical inventory count as needed


Qualifications:

  • We are looking for a motivated and proactive self-starter who has a passion for the PCX mission.
  • Detail oriented and able to organise and perform with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excited by the prospect of operating in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and able to manage your work streams independently.
  • Having an undergraduate degree in Accounting, CPA is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient with Google Suite, specifically Google Sheets, Mail, and Google Docs.
  • Proficient with Quickbooks Online, or other similar accounting software.
  • Previous work experience related to accountancy, bookkeeping, or finance will be advantageous.


Work Arrangement - Hybrid:

This role is planned as a full time position with 40 hours per week based in Manila.

This role offers a hybrid model, combining the flexibility of remote work with regular office presence for team work (estimated 3 times a week). Additionally, it involves essential in-person meetings with PCX personnel and occasional in-person meetings. Core work hours are from 8:00AM - 4:00PM / 9:00AM to 5:00PM but the nature of our global team requires participation in early morning or evening meetings from time to time.
