As an OPS, we seek a highly skilled and experienced Legal & Compliance Manager to join us. This role should be pivotal in ensuring our operations adhere to the highest legal and regulatory standards.

‌Position Summary‌:

The Legal and Compliance Manager will oversee all legal and compliance matters related to our payment services in the Philippines and other potential international markets. This includes providing legal advice, managing regulatory compliance, and controlling legal risks.

‌Key Responsibilities‌:

1. ‌Legal Advisory‌:

Provide comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of issues, including AML, BSP Management Regulations, contracts, data protection, intellectual property, consumer protection, etc.

Review, negotiate, and draft legal documents, such as service agreements, partnership contracts, and compliance policies.

2. ‌Regulatory Compliance‌:

Stay abreast of local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting the payment industry.

Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.

According to the Philippine Anti Money Laundering Law and BSP regulations, establish internal rules and regulations to ensure that the company operates in compliance with regulatory requirements;

Carry out compliance work in accordance to anti money laundering laws and BSP regulations, and submit reports as required;

3. ‌Risk Management‌:

Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks associated with our products, services, and operations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure effective implementation.

4. ‌Training & Development‌:

Design and deliver training programs to enhance employees' understanding of legal and compliance issues.

Provide ongoing support and guidance to employees on compliance-related matters.

5. ‌External Relationships‌:

Establish and maintain positive relationships with regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and industry associations.

Represent the company in legal and regulatory proceedings, as needed.

‌Qualifications‌:

1. LL.B. or equivalent law degree.

2. At least 3 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably within the payment or financial services industry.

3. In-depth knowledge of Philippine laws and regulations, as well as international legal frameworks.

4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate legal and compliance issues to non-legal stakeholders.

6. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly Chinese, is good.

‌Preferred Qualifications‌:

1. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional).

2. Experience working in a multinational company or with international legal and regulatory frameworks.
