The advanced mobile security assessment engineer performs complex mobile application security testing including analysis of compiled applications, on-device behavior and web-services. In additional to in-depth manual testing the applications the advanced assessment engineer will ensuring quality and actionability of findings by documenting evidence for any vulnerabilities as well as reviewing results from analysis tools. Apart from completing security assessments, the advanced assessment engineer also serves as a mentor for others on the team and helps advance the capabilities of our security assessment methodologies and tools.
What The Role Offers
- Advanced knowledge of Android and iOS environments and internals
- Advanced web vulnerability assessment and penetration testing experience
- Advanced knowledge of mobile application security best practices
- Experience with web application scanners (e.g. Fortify WebInspect, Nessus, IBM/HCL AppScan) and HTTPS intercepting proxies (e.g. Burp Suite, mitmproxy)
- Experience with mobile application development and common mobile application programming languages such as Java, Objective-C, Kotlin and Swift a plus.
- Experience with reverse engineering compiled (e.g. ARM/64, Dex/Java) binaries a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standard bodies (e.g. OWASP) and testing methodologies
- Experienced in Unix based operating systems
- Advanced knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, RESTful APIs, etc.
- Familiarity with Networking and TCP/IP protocols
- Desires to learn new and emerging technologies and techniques for mobile application security assessments
- Creatively able to solve problems
- Resourcefulness and ability to work under pressure
- Quality-oriented attention to detail
- Requires minimal supervision
What You Need To Succeed
- 2 years professional vulnerability testing experience
- Experience in customer-facing roles - may include support, sales, consulting, or account management
- Industry-recognized IT/Security certifications a plus
- Development experience a plus
- Responsible for learning new and relevant skills for their role
- Attends and completes required trainings.
- Set and align goals with his/her manager’s goals and provides the needed feedback to achieve them
- Contributes to FoD research and/or other tech projects
- Understands and learns from feedback given
- Must work and be available during standardized hours defined by their shift
- Must be reachable on Teams, cell phone and/or email during their shift
- Informs their Leads or Manager if they are stepping away for more than an hour on personal business
- Informs their Leads or Manager when unable to come to work
- Follows the OpenText Leave guidelines when filing leaves
- Adheres with the team and company’s attendance policy for office based workers
- Sets an Out-Of-Office message in outlook when on leave with details on the duration of the leave and the point of contact during his/her absence
