Minimum qualifications:

1.Completed Grade 10 or High School graduate of old curriculum equivalent

  • With at least 3 years of work experience related to Lights and Sounds operation in a performance value

OR

  • Completed a Vocational Diploma/Certificate Course related to Lighting or Sound System Operations, Electrical and Electronics, or Machine Operation
  • With at least 1 year of related work experience

2. Physically fit and is able to climb, crawl, and lift heavy objects

3. Able to read and interpret documents such as manuals, assembly instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and construction drawings

4. Able to perform basic computer skills

5. Must have up-to-date knowledge of stage equipment and facilities and their maintenance

General Job Description:

The Theater Technician plays a key support role in the Technical Setup of Venues during events.

He/She closely coordinates with event organizers ensuring that theater booking schedules are strictly followed and that the Technical Setup is safe and does not pose any risks to the performers, audience, and facility.

The Theater Technician is also in charge of the inventory, storage, maintenance, and proper handling of a variety of Audio-Visual systems, devices, and other performance-related equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

PRIMARY:

  • Takes part in event planning and reviews the safety and feasibility of the technical and physical arrangement plans of the event organizers.
  • Monitors and ensures the proper and safe handling of sets, props, and equipment during the event.
  • Operates audio, video, and lighting equipment during performances.
  • Strikes equipment and inspects for damages or issues after each event.
  • Ensures that performance venues such as the Dance Halls, Theater, Conference Room, Black Box, and other assigned areas, are maintained and orderly at all times.
  • Maintains inventory and regular records of equipment and supplies.
  • Receives and processes Venue Reservation Requests and prepares the venue in terms of technical requirements.

SECONDARY:

  • Orients users on the guidelines and proper use of equipment prior to their use.
  • Submits reports on issues and concerns involving damages, risks, losses, and mishandling of school equipment.
  • Consults with Technical Suppliers in the proper setup, mounting, and handling protocols ensuring little to no risk for damages. Arranges specialization repairs and service calls as needed.
  • Prepares requisitions for supplies, tools, and equipment required to perform his duties and responsibilities.
  • Attends trainings, seminars, and workshops related to the position as advised by management.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php20,000.00 - Php25,000.00 per month
